The Foundation in Peace, Conflict, and Humanitarian Studies is a one-year interdisciplinary program designed to build essential knowledge and practical skills for addressing global peace and humanitarian challenges. The program introduces students to the foundations of peacebuilding, conflict analysis, humanitarian principles, human rights, and ethical leadership.
Across two semesters, learners explore the causes and dynamics of conflict, methods of conflict prevention and resolution, post-conflict recovery, disaster response, and community-based peace initiatives. Core modules integrate international humanitarian law, mediation and negotiation skills, humanitarian ethics, and the role of civil society and global institutions such as the United Nations.
The program emphasizes experiential learning through case studies, simulations, group projects, and field-based or virtual practicums. Students develop critical thinking, cross-cultural communication, and analytical skills essential for careers in NGOs, humanitarian agencies, policy institutions, and community organizations.
Graduates gain a strong foundation to pursue further studies or entry-level roles in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable development aligned with global peace and justice goals.
