Energy

The world still relies heavily on coal and gas, polluting air, harming climate, and delaying the global transition to clean, sustainable energy.

We call for a fair global shift to clean energy that protects people, planet, and leaves no one behind.

What We’re Facing

Despite abundant renewable resources worldwide, the global energy system remains dominated by fossil fuels. Coal and gas continue driving climate change, biodiversity loss, and social disruption. This dependence reveals a widening gap between global energy potential and the urgent transition needed for a clean, just, and sustainable future.

Still stuck on fossil fuels

Globally, only 4% of energy came from renewables in 2023, with solar contributing just a small fraction

Low targets, slower progress

Worldwide, governments project only 17% renewable energy use by 2050, far below what is needed to confront the climate crisis.

Wasted solar potential

The world can power up to 30% of its grids with solar by 2035, but we are not on track to achieve it.

What We’re Building Together

Imagine a world free from fossil fuel dependence, powered entirely by renewable energy and guided by justice. Sun, wind, and other endless resources provide clean power, protect our air, rivers, and ecosystems, and ensure a sustainable future for all. A planet where energy doesn’t cost our health or environment.

Fossil fuels are fading

Coal and gas are not just outdated. They’re harmful, finite, and fueling climate breakdown.

Renewables are rising

Solar and wind are clean, abundant, and ready to power the world’s future.

A just energy transition

A just global energy transition supports workers, communities, and nature, including fossil fuel industry employees.

Power for the people

We want a global energy system that puts people first—fair, open, and benefiting everyone, not just large corporations.

Our Work for Energy

We’re working alongside communities to protect our right to clean air through campaigns, creative activism, and collective action that address pollution at its source.

Just energy transition

From workers to policymakers, we drive a just global energy transition, meeting community needs, research, and real solutions, leaving no one behind.

Community building

From solar energy to community-led forest schools, we’re creating real, lasting climate solutions worldwide.
